AUTOPROGETTAZIONE?

Il libro è costituito da un progetto realizzato da Mari nel ’74 e rappresenta uno stimolo (e una provocazione) per legare la creatività alla capacità costruttiva di ognuno, seguendo e/o modificando la traccia data dai disegni progettuali di Enzo Mari per la realizzazione di una sedia, un tavolo, un armadio, un letto…
Il libro riprende la precedente pubblicazione “Proposta per un’autoprogettazione” curata dal centro Duchamp e stampata in occasione della mostra alla Galleria Milano, alla quale si aggiungono i testi dello stesso Mari a commento di quest’operazione, la documentazione di ciò che la prima uscita del progetto ha provocato (lettere, commenti, articoli), immagini, disegni e una riflessione sull’attualità della riproposta di oggi.

This classic is about Isaacs’ Matrix Idea of building sustainable, eco-friendly, modular, flexible, multi-functional living structures which reconfigure the entire volume of a room, being bigger than furniture and smaller than architecture. The book explains how to make a variety of flexible experimental indoor interiors, storage units, and a flexible microhouse.

AN ANECDOTED TOPOGRAPHY OF CHANCE

In 1962 after a conversation with the poet Robert Filliou, Fluxus artist Daniel Spoerri mapped the objects lying at random on the table in his room, adding a rigorously scientific description of each. These objects subsequently evoked associations, memories, anecdotes; not only from the original author, but from his friends as well: a beguiling creation was born. Many of the principal participants of FLUXUS make an appearance (and texts by Higgins, Jouffroy, Kaprow, Restany, and Tinguely are included, among others). It is a novel of digressions in the manner of Tristram Shandy or Robbe-Grillet; it's a game, a poem, an encyclopaedia, a cabinet of wonders: a celebration of friendship and creativity.

DANIEL SPOERRI

Artist, dancer and later, restaurant manager, Daniel Spoerri is most known for his “snare pictures.” He defined them as “objects, which are found in randomly orderly or disorderly situations, are mounted on whatever they are found on (table, box, drawer, etc.) in the exact constellation they are found in(…). By declaring the result to be a tableau, the horizontal becomes vertical. For example: the leftovers of a meal are mounted on the table and the table is then hung on a wall (…)”.

PARALLEL SCHOOL

Un luogo virtuale che si propone come piattaforma di idee, pensieri e progetti; un luogo di scambio libero sul tema dell’arte e del design, che si propone di superare i confini tra gli istituti universitari, attraverso la partecipazione diretta degli studenti. Questo è Parallel School, progetto nato dall’iniziativa di alcuni studenti dell’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) di Parigi: Damien Fauret, Samuel Bonnet, Samuel Lamidey e Laure Giletti.
Tutto comincia con una lettera che gli studenti inviano ai loro colleghi del Royal College of Art (RCA) di Londra nel dicembre 2009, con la proposta di creare una “scuola parallela”, che possa superare i confini geografici e fungere da catalizzatore di idee tra “studenti di ogni parte del mondo”.
Inizia così un progetto, per definizione stessa dei fondatori, dal percorso “aperto”, che in poco meno di un anno di vita ha visto la realizzazione di workshop, mostre, pubblicazioni, un blog aperto ai contributi di chiunque voglia partecipare e anche un “non-manifesto”...
